  • once we hit the summit of the North Peaks the sun breaks out and everyones mood is lifted.
  • REI camp kitchen set makes a guest appearance at the summit
  • Eric is enjoying the sun so much he decides to fly a kite
  • We find a great spot sheltered from the wind for lunch
  • and cook up a nice warm veggie soup.
  • its so nice out now that we rest for about an hour here
  • The East Summit of Katahdin and if you look close you can see people at the summit.
  • and people crossing the "Knifes Edge". We will be there tomorrow.
  • What a great view!!
  • Jess changes her socks before we head down the mountain.
  • Then we head back down the trail for the final 2.5 miles to Chimney Pond campsite
  • Eric enjoys the valley from the edge
