BaxterBackpacking

  • Eric and Erin have pineapple chicken and rice for dinner.
  • the sun sets and we build a fire at our lean-to...
  • Sitting in the lean-to watching the sun set after about 9 miles of hiking and a good dinner.
  • Natures reward.

  • Dancin' in the rain. Its a drizzly morning as we start our 6 mile hike to Russell Pond camp site.
  • Jess makes some breakfast tea
  • and uses my compass to make sure she her hair looks perfect for the hike
  • An early river crossing.
  • its very rainy so not too many pics from this part of the hike
  • as we slog through the wet and unmaintained Grand Falls trail.

  • and we arrive at Russell Pond camp site.

  • The next morning we head on our 10 miler up the 4756 foot North West Basin and over the Hamlin Ridge.
  • its a steep climb but the rain holds off and the scenery is beautiful.
