Hiking The Wildcats
T.J., Sarah, Jen, Mike and I take a nice day hike over all the Wildcat Summits. Its an unseasonably warm day in the mountains for late December and we enjoy a mostly ice free climb up the steep sections.
We get a few very nice exposed viewpoints of Mt Washington with direct views of Tuckermans Ravine and Huntington Ravine (usually covered in ice and snow at this point in the season.
Mike and I explore a little slot cave before before getting to the Wildcat ski resort summit.
After hiking past the chairlifts at Wildcat ski resort we head up to the lookout platform at Wildcat D.
From there we cross the Wildcat ridge line over a series of minor summits and then get another very nice view at the summit of Wildcat A.
We covered about 9 miles on the day. Good views, good weather, lots of jokes, and a hike out in the dark make for another great day in the Whites.
